PRIVATIZATION PROJECTS

Privatization Program (1990), transferred most of the state owned companies were transferred to private sector (state telephone company, airlines, railroads, electric power production and distribution ( 27,1 billions total value of the privatized companies). In 1994 a large part of the pension system was privatized through the creation of Retirement and Pension Fund Management (AFJP).
Argentine authorities invite interested parties to submit, as appropriate, bids for the state owned companies that will be privatized: hydroelectric plants, nuclear power stations, gas, railways, electricity distribution companies, military factories and postal services among others.

I. Federal Government

Energy.

Yacyretá hydroelectric project. (Binational project Argentina-Paraguay).
Pichi Picún Leufú hydroelectric project (in construction).
Military factories.
Permits for hydrocarbon exploration, including continental shelf (Plan Argentina).
Residual shares of stock of fifteen privatized companies (gas and electricity).
Gas distribution through pipelines (Mesopotamia region). Industry.

- Two energy companies in the Province of Jujuy (Empresa Jujeña de Energia S.A. and Empresa jujeña de Sistemas Energéticos Dispersos S.A.).
- One energy company in the Province of Rio Negro (Empresa de Energia de Rio Negro S.A).
- Two energy companies in the Province of Salta (Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad de Salta S.A. and and Empresa de Sistemas Eléctricos Dispersos S.A.).
